BattleStick 2, like a typical multiplayer game, has a moderation system to control rule-breakers and to keep the game's chat services player-friendly.
The Moderation System
The game's moderation system is defined in three categories: Warning, Chat Ban, and Account Block. A warning is when a user committed a non-serious one-time offense (such as spamming or using profane language), however, if repeated, a chat ban can be issued - it is when a user is unable to chat in all of the game's chat services (lobby chat & battle chat) for a certain period of time. A more radical approach would be an account block; when a user is unable to enter and use their game account in any way.
Who has the powers to warn / ban?
Chat Moderators are the primary force responsible for keeping an eye on the game's chat services. However, the Developer and the Community Manager also have the powers. These staff members can be noticed by their avatars and a different color in the chat.
Length of the ban
The length of the ban depends on the severity of the offense committed. Chat bans lengths are: 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days, 1 month, 6 months & PERMANENT. Account blocks lengths are always PERMANENT. It is up to the moderator to decide the length of a ban.
Keeping ALL offenses in the database
Every ban issued will automatically be logged into the game's database for the Administration to view. A player's ban history, called 'karma', will affect their application if they intend to join a position in the Staff Team.
Think you were banned without justification?
If you, the player, think your ban was unjustified and/or the staff member was abusing their powers, please send an email to email@example.com with DETAILED PROOF for the Administration to take appropriate action. Do NOT send them anywhere else.
